Vicky Kaushal is set to star in Mahavatar, a mythological epic from director Amar Kaushik, known for Stree 2. The film, produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, will portray Kaushal as Chiranjeevi Parashurama, the “eternal warrior of dharma.” Scheduled for a theatrical release on Christmas 2026, Mahavatar promises to bring a fresh perspective to Indian mythology.
The announcement was made via Maddock Films’ social media, accompanied by a striking first-look poster. Their Instagram post read:“Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma! Vicky Kaushal stars as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. Coming to cinemas – Christmas 2026!”
Kaushal is also gearing up for another Maddock project, Chhaava, a historical drama where he plays Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. This period film is slated to hit theaters on December 6, 2024, adding to the actor’s lineup of ambitious roles.
