Kalki 2898 AD

Kalki 2898 AD is a visually stunning and ambitious sci-fi epic that transports audiences to a dystopian future where myth and technology intertwine. Directed by Nag Ashwin and featuring a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, the film offers a bold vision of a world grappling with chaos, war, and the quest for a savior.

The film’s standout feature is its breathtaking visual effects and production design, which create an immersive and otherworldly atmosphere. The narrative, inspired by Hindu mythology and the concept of the Kalki avatar, is both thought-provoking and complex, blending futuristic themes with ancient spiritual elements.

Amitabh Bachan as Ashwathama the 10 feet long Immortal protecting SUM-80 was amazing, seriously this man holds the weight of the whole movie on his shoulders.

However, the film’s pacing and dense plot may be challenging for some viewers to follow, as it weaves together multiple storylines and philosophical ideas. Despite these potential drawbacks, Kalki 2898 AD is a daring and imaginative film that pushes the boundaries of Indian cinema, offering a unique cinematic experience that resonates on both an intellectual and emotional level. Dystopian world seems like a crossover of post apocalyptic world of Dune, with MadMax like of scavenging that happens between groups to grab units. where there is a very visible Hunger Games like class divide. The Utopia is called Complex just like Emprire (Star Wars) and Fight Rebels (Jedi’s) from Shambhala that looks like Pandora from Avatar and people are like Jedi’s (Protector of ancient art form/ Knowledge) who travel in pods like Star wars. Manas(Darth Vader)from complex have been trying to find Shambala that is cloaked like Wakanda and wishes to destroy like sentinels and agent Smith wanted to destroy Zion in Matrix. Supreme Yaskin is a cross breed between Lord Voldemort and Sith Lord Palpatine. who awaits for a prophecy child- KALKI

Ironically all these iconic elements have been referenced from our Sanatan scriptures and used and now we quote Hollywood movies as a direct references.

In summary, Kalki 2898 AD is a visually arresting and conceptually rich film that will appeal to fans of epic science fiction and mythology, though it may require multiple viewings to fully grasp its intricate narrative.

Kalki is available on Prime Videos in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and on Netlix in Hindi.
