Channing Tatum playing Gambit was something that took a great deal, 10 years, multiple re-writes, and a Fox-Disney merger.
Channing Tatum who finally stepping into the role of Gambit in the highly anticipated Deadpool & Wolverine, where he’ll shared the screen with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Weasley Snipes, Tatum’s portrayal of the Cajun mutant, known for his kinetic card-throwing abilities and suave charm, has been a long time coming. Fans have eagerly awaited his debut as Gambit, especially after his solo film was shelved years ago.
In tonight show starring jimmy fallon, 44 year old actor shared was it and how long he waited for over a decade to play gambit on the big screen and he had Ryan Reynolds to thank for this dream to come true.
Tatum also said that Gambit’s thick Cajun accent was a long on going joke in Deadlpool & Wolverine with Ryan Reynolds asking at one point: “Who’s your dialect coach? The Minions?”
He humorously told Fallon, “I’ve been holding onto that deck of cards for so long, I was starting to think I’d never get to throw them!”
We have to wait to see if Tatum’s Gambit will be returning to MCU.
